I Play College Baseball and when I found out about the rule change I did not like but understood the changes. I am an outfielder and a pitcher and alot of people dont like BBCOR but I can honestly say that I love hitting and pitching with BBCOR. Pitching because there is no more of the little texas leaguers the bat performs like a wood bat so if you are not comfortable with wood your not going to like BBCOR. The balance of ALL BBCOR is end heavy. They are also not supposed to have the pop like BESR does. On average the ball is going to fly 25ft shorter with BBCOR. So dont expect to buy any BBCOR bats and expect homerun after homerun. As a hitter the bat performs sluggish out of the box but as it gets broken in they are great. Just so everyone knows these bats are designed to limit the speed of the ball off the bat to protect pitchers and to keep the game in the yard. Dont get me wrong homeruns happen my teammate had 6 homeruns in the first 15 games you just have to be used to wood because the sweet spot is alot like wood and is not as forgiving as BESR. I have the Easton Omen the 2012 VooDoo and the 2011 5150 and its the same with all of the bats let them brake in and dont expect anything special from these bats out of the box.

I believe this product is offered at a big discount because they can't sell them. I play highschool and travel baseball and received this as a birthday gift. Used it all fall on my travel team and was extremely disappointed. I have always used Eastons up until now. Since then I purchased a DeMarini Vodoo, sounds and seems like it has more pop in the cage but we'll have to see in the spring.

Comments about Easton 2011 Omen -3 Adult Baseball Bat (BBCOR):

I have used this product off a tee, during soft toss ,in a batting cage and on the field. And it is a really good bat. The pop is very comparable to a BESR bat. The balancei is very good. I have used the Omaha, Surge, CF5, Voodoo, Vexxum, and the Omen is better than all of them. The only thing bad about it is that it is a semi-long break in period. After that, the bat is good to go.

                      Softball Bat Sizing

To find the correct bat length for your softball-playing daughter, have her stand straight up with her arms to the side. Place a ruler to her side with the start of the ruler (the "0" mark) on the ground. Read the measurement at the end of her wrist, just where the hand meets the forearm. As a general rule, this measurement indicates the perfect bat length for her.

Another sizing method for Baseball and Softball

Another great means for determining bat size is what we'll call the wingspan method. Have your son or daughter stand up tall with their arms straight out (arms should be parallel to the ground as if they were trying to mimic an airplane). Measure from the very center of their chest out to the tip of their fingers. That measurement will give you the ideal bat length.

It's always best to try to size using a variety of methods to come up with their ideal. For youth which are still growing, we recommend that you go with the longest length obtained through the various sizing methods. We often use the break of the wrist method (described in the softball bat sizing above) along with this method and use the longer of the two.
