Knicker baseball pants have been a staple of baseball since the 1860s.  Knickers are shorter and are often loose—particularly around the knee area—which allows the player to move freely.  Knicker pants are timeless as they were worn by legends like Babe Ruth and Ty Cobb and by today’s All-Stars like Aaron Judge and Javier Baez.

Long baseball pants became a popular trend in baseball beginning in the 1950s and 60s after Hall of Fame pitcher Carl Hubbell initiated the look, earning him the nickname “Old Long Pants”.  More form-fitting than classic knickers, these pants still leave room to show off your favorite baseball socks or stirrups and were the preferred look for Hall of Famers Bob Gibson and Mickey Mantle.

Full-length baseball pants are the most popular look in the game today.  More baggy and loose fitting than traditional knickers or long pants, the pant legs are also longer to rest on, and even cover a player’s cleats.  These pants were popularized in the early 2000s by players like Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz and continue to be a hit with today’s top players like Nolan Arenado and Mike Trout.
