No pop at all

So glad that USA baseball decertified this bat ( 30 inch drop 10) went with a $99 aluminum bat that hits the ball about 20 feet further. maybe next year Easton will produce a bat that's competitive.

Decertified

1

Number one bat that is decertified in the 30inch length. Dear Little League Parents and Volunteers, Receiving a notice that a bat has been decertified, especially in the middle of the season, is challenging, inconvenient, and disappointing for everyone. On Thursday, May 3, USA Baseball informed Little League and other youth organizations about the decertification of the Easton Ghost X 30/20 5/8. We are committed to sharing that information with all of you as soon as we received it. According to the official notice from USA Baseball, "official compliance testing determined that the Ghost X 30/20 exceeds the performance limit set by the USABat Standard. Per the USA Baseball Youth Bat Performance Test Protocol as well as (USA Baseball's) contracts with Easton, these results constitute a non-compliant bat that must be decertified." I think this is a horrible job done by Easton researching and developing their product. You would think that one of the "leaders" in youth baseball would have been thorough in the process. A little disappointed in baseball express also marketing this bat and not letting their consumer know of this issue.

Not worth it

1

I wouldn't recommend this bat to an enemy. It is extremely poor performing. I bought it for my 10 year old under the advisement that this would be the best performing bat of all the new USA Baseball options. We got it at release this summer so we have put well over 2,000 swings on it at this point. It vibrates badly and hurts hands. Solid contact is not rewarded at all. In testing against a wooden bat, the wood performed better on solid contact and almost equally on poor contact. For the price this bat is not worth the money, and not up to the Easton standards.

Effective on January 1, 2018, USA Baseball™ is mandating a new bat performance standard as well as allowing the use of 2 5/8” BIG BARRELS for all age levels. No bats previously approved for use in Little League Play (Junior League Baseball and below) will be permitted to be used in any Little League game or practice, or other Little League function, event, or activity.

Along with Little League Baseball®, the following organizations are participating (in alphabetical order): American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC), Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), Babe Ruth Baseball/Cal Ripken Baseball, Dixie Youth Baseball, and PONY Baseball.

USA Baseball’s national member organizations believe that a wood-like performance standard will best provide for the long-term integrity of the game. The new standard will not have a drop-weight limit, so young players can use bats made with lightweight materials. And while wood is a scarce source, the new bats will be designed to perform much like wood, where its performance will be limited to the highest performing wood.

Starting on January 1, 2018, all bats must be marked with the USABat label (see above) in order to be used in Little League Baseball®. All bats marked with the BFP 1.15 will not be permitted to be used in any Little League activities, including practices or games. All new bats that bear the USABat licensing mark will be permissible for play in the leagues and tournaments of the participating youth baseball organizations.

Current league-approved bats can be used through December 31, 2017.
