THE HISTORY
At the 1978 NCAA Regional baseball playoffs, Easton introduced the original B5 Pro Big Barrel, a baseball bat made of 71/78 aluminum alloy wit a 2-5/8" barrel diamater. Up to that point, it was the largest barrel that had ever been made.
In just a few short months, 38% of NCAA players were swinging the B5 Pro, including 8 out of the 9 starting players on the National Champion USC Trojans.
The B5 Pro Big Barrel affectionately became known as "The Green Easton" and turned Easton into THE name for baseball bats.
THE ICON REBORN
The 2021 Easton B5 Pro Big Barrel blends the old school classic design with the modern technology found in today's 1-piece alloy bat.
Created with Easton's highest end alloy, ATAC Alloy, the barrel features their ring-less barrel design and utilizes different layers of alloy across the barrel to create an enormous sweet spot on an aluminum bat.
The new B5 Pro features an even stiffer alloy handle to maximize the energy transfer back into the baseball, but has been reinforced with Easton's VRS Handle insert to help reduce vibration and give a smooth, flawless feel at contact.
